Privacy Policy

Hello and welcome to Skillprint! Skillprint identifies your strengths by observing the way you play games. We then share those insights with you in an intuitive, fun, and engaging interface with the goal of empowering you to get ahead. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how we collect, use, and share information in connection with our website (“Site”), which is located at https://www.skillprint.co/, as well as the games, assessments, and other products and features we make available as part of offering you our services (collectively, with our Site, our “Services”). This Policy also explains your rights and choices with respect to such information.

Please read this Policy carefully and let us know if you have any questions. By using our Services or otherwise providing information to Skillprint, you are agreeing to the terms of this Policy. This Policy is incorporated by reference into the Skillprint Terms of Service, which govern your use of our Services.

Please note that this Policy only applies in contexts where we process your personal information as a data controller. If we are acting as a data processor and processing personal information on behalf of one of our customers, their privacy policy may apply.

Information that We Collect

Personal information means any information that you provide to us which personally identifies you, or other data that can be reasonably associated with or linked to such information by Skillprint. We collect personal and other information from you directly when you provide it to us through our Services. We also automatically collect certain information about you and your computer, smartphone, or other device when you use, access, or interact with our Site. We may also collect information from third parties in relation to providing you our Services.

We and our service providers collect a variety of personal information through our Services, including:

  • Information you submit when you create or modify an account. We collect certain information when you create a Skillprint account or modify your account information, which may include your name, general location information (e.g., city, state, zip code, and/or country), phone number, email address, username, password, and any profile picture you upload.
  • Information we collect when you play our games. When you play games through our Services, we may collect information about your answers to questions, your points, achievements you’ve earned, or screen recordings of your session.
  • Information we collect when you take our assessments. We may also ask you questions about your interests, career goals, salary, mood, personality, or cognitive abilities, and will collect any answers to such questions you choose to provide, as well as the scores, insights, and inferences we generate from them.
  • Information you submit when you contact us. You can visit our Site without submitting any information that we can use to identify you personally. However, to use certain features on our Site, such as the feedback form or to send us an email, you will be required to provide personal information. Such information could include, for example, your name and email address.
  • Third-party login services. We may allow you to register and log in to Skillprint using third-party services, such as Facebook, Google, and/or LinkedIn. If you choose to do so, these services may provide us with the same types of information listed above.
  • Web log data. When you use our Site, we automatically receive and record certain information from your computer (or other device) and your browser. This may include such data as your device’s IP address and domain name, information about your use of our Services during your current session and over time (including the content you view and your interactions with it), the date and time of your visit, links and buttons you click, searches conducted, your software and hardware attributes (including browser and operating system type and version), and your general geographic location inferred from IP address (e.g., your city, state, or metropolitan region), and certain cookie information (see below). To obtain such information, we may use web logs or the following technologies to recognize your device and collect information about its online activity.
    • Cookies. Our Site uses “cookies,” which are small text files that are stored on your computer that retain information like high scores you achieve on our games. Should you wish to prevent your device from accepting cookies, you can change the settings on your web browser to refuse all cookies, indicate when a cookie is being set, or disable cookies altogether. Please note that certain features of our Site may not function properly or may function differently, if you choose not to receive cookies.
    • Web beacons. Our Site or the emails that you receive from Skillprint may use an application known as a “web beacon” (also known as a “clear gif” or “pixel tag”). A web beacon is an electronic file that usually consists of a single-pixel image. It can be embedded in a web page or in an email to transmit information, which could include personal information. For example, it can allow an email sender to determine whether a user has opened a particular email.
    • Scripts and local storage. Our games may include embedded scripts that track user behavior, and we may access local storage on your device to collect data about your gameplay.

We may combine information collected through our Services with information that we collect in other contexts, such as information from email communications with you. We will treat such combined information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

How We Use Information that We Collect

We use the information that we collect (described in “Information that We Collect,” above) for a variety of purposes, including:

  • Providing our services to you. To provide our services to you, including to provide insights and recommendations about your strengths and skills based on your activity in our games, and for other purposes related to providing our services.
  • Communicating with you. To send you information about our services and other topics that are likely to be of interest to you, including newsletters, updates, or other communications; communicate with you in response to your inquiries; and deliver confirmations, account information, notifications, and similar operational communications.
  • Improving user experience and the quality of the services. To count and recognize users of our Site, analyze how users use the Site and Services, improve our Services, create new products and services, and conduct analytics.
  • Developing and improving our models. To develop, train, test, and improve the artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other analytical models that support our Services.
  • Tailoring our content, advertisements, and offers. This may include the use of third-party tools to send advertisements, as described in the section below titled “Third-Party Advertising and Analytics.”
  • Complying with legal and/or regulatory requirements. For legal or other necessary purposes, including as described below in the section titled “How We Share Information.”

We also use your information to generate aggregated or de-identified data that does not identify individual users. This aggregated or de-identified data is used for our own business purposes as well as for other purposes consistent with applicable laws.

We do not use your personal information for purposes of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce a legal or similarly significant effect.

How We Share Information that We Collect

We share information that we collect (described in “Information that We Collect,” above) with third parties for a variety of reasons, including as follows:

  • Service providers. We use service providers to help us manage and improve our Services. These service providers may collect and use your information to assist us in achieving the purposes discussed in this Privacy Policy. For example, we may use third parties to send emails on our behalf, perform data storage and processing services, and perform analytics, including as described in the section below titled “Third-Party Advertising and Analytics.” Please note that, by accessing our Site and using our services, you consent to the transfer of personal information to these service providers.
  • Third-party plugins. Our Services may integrate certain third-party software tools (such as Facebook, Google, and LinkedIn integrations). Even if you do not use these tools, they may collect information about you, such as your IP address and the content that you view. They also may set and/or access a cookie or use similar tracking technologies. These plugins are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing them.
  • Legal purposes. We may use or share information with third parties when we believe, in our sole reasonable discretion, that doing so is necessary:
    • To comply with applicable law or a court order, subpoena, or other legal process;
    • To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal or prohibited activities, suspected fraud, violations of our rules or terms and conditions, or situations involving threats to other individuals, our property, or the property or physical safety of any person or third party;
    • To establish, protect, or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; or
    • To facilitate the financing, securitization, insuring, sale, assignment, bankruptcy, or other disposal of all or part of our organization or assets.
  • Aggregated and de-identified information. Sometimes we aggregate or de-identify information so that it can no longer identify you, as defined under applicable laws. We may use and disclose this aggregated or de-identified information for any purpose, unless an applicable law says otherwise, including to conduct research, benchmark and report on trends, develop new products and services, and, train, test, and improve artificial intelligence and machine learning models. We may make aggregated and de-identified information available to our business partners, including technology and research partners, for these purposes. We will maintain and use such information in deidentified form and not attempt to reidentify the information, except where reidentification is allowed by law for particular purposes. In those situations, we will use the re-identified data in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Third-Party Advertising and Analytics

Analytics. We partner with certain third parties to collect information and engage in analytics. These third parties may collect such information using server logs, cookies, web beacons, tags, pixels, cross-device linking, and similar technologies. For example, our advertising partners may use the fact that you used our Services to target advertising to you on other websites and mobile apps on your current device or on other devices you use. In particular, our Services use Google Analytics to help collect and analyze certain information for the purposes discussed above. Interest-based advertising. Our Services may enable third-party tracking mechanisms to collect information about you and your computing devices for use in online interest-based advertising. For example, third parties may use the fact that you used our Services to target online advertisements to you on other websites and online services. Our third-party advertising networks may also use information about your use of our Services to help target advertisements based on your online activity more generally. For information about interest-based advertising practices, including privacy and confidentiality, visit the Network Advertising Initiative website or the Digital Advertising Alliance website.

The use of online tracking mechanisms by third parties is subject to those third parties’ privacy policies, not this Privacy Policy. You may set your browser to block cookies or use the applicable opt-out tools provided by the Network Advertising Initiative or Digital Advertising Alliance. Please note that our Site does not currently respond to “do not track” browser headers.

Please note that the opt-outs described above will apply only to the specific browser or device from which you opt out, and therefore you will need to opt out separately on all of your browsers and devices. If you delete or reset your cookies or mobile advertising identifiers, change browsers (including upgrading certain browsers), or use a different device, any opt-out cookie or tool may no longer work, and you will need to opt out again.

We may use Facebook Custom Audiences, LinkedIn Advertising and Reddit Ads to deliver advertisements on various social media platforms. You can learn more about these services and manage how advertisements are targeted to you by reviewing the advertising settings and privacy information made available by those platforms.

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites. Skillprint does not make any representation as to the accuracy or completeness of such Sites or information, has not and will not review or update such Sites or information, and cautions users that any use made of such Sites or information is at their own risk. Skillprint disclaims any and all warranties, express or implied, to any such linked sites, including but not limited to any terms as to the accuracy, ownership, validity or legality of any content of a linked Site.

Data Security

Skillprint uses commercially reasonable security measures, including physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect your information against loss or unauthorized access, use, modification, or deletion. However, no security program is 100% secure, and thus we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

Data Retention

We retain personal information about you necessary to fulfill the purpose for which that information was collected or as required or permitted by law. We do not retain personal information longer than is necessary for us to achieve the purposes for which we collected it. When we destroy your personal information, we do so in a way that prevents that information from being restored or reconstructed.

Your Rights and Choices

If you want to learn more about the personal information that Skillprint has about you, or you would like to update, change, or delete that information, please contact us by email at privacy@skillprint.co.

If you no longer want to receive our newsletters or other promotional communications, please follow the “unsubscribe” instructions that are included at the bottom of each such message or email us at privacy@skillprint.co. Please note that if you unsubscribe from our promotional communications, you may still receive administrative messages from us.

If you are a resident of a jurisdiction with an applicable data privacy law, you may have certain rights available to you in relation to your personal information. These rights may include:

  • The right to access your personal information (including a data portability request);
  • The right to correct or amend any personal information we have on file about you;
  • The right to delete your personal information;
  • The right to limit the use of your “sensitive” personal information;
  • The right to opt-out of the sale or “sharing” of your personal information;
  • The right to opt-out of the use of your personal information for targeted advertising purposes;
  • The right to restrict or object to the processing of your personal information (such as for direct marketing purposes);
  • The right to restrict or opt-out of the use of your personal information for certain automated decision-making (including profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects);
  • The right to revoke your consent (to the extent applicable);
  • The right to confirm whether personal information about you is being processed;
  • The right to obtain a list of specific third parties (or categories of third parties) to which we have disclosed your personal information or any personal information.

We will respond to your request as soon as reasonably possible and within the timeframe required under applicable law. We will allow you to appeal any decision we make in response to such request in accordance with applicable law. Appeals may be submitted to privacy@skillprint.co with the subject line “Appeal of Decision Related to Privacy Rights Request.”

Prior to complying with your request, we will first verify your identity by comparing the information you provide with the information we have on file for you.

You may authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf. To designate an agent, please provide a written and signed document by both you and the agent that authorizes the agent to act on your behalf. You may also use a power of attorney. We will still require you to provide information to allow us to reasonably verify that you are the person about whom we collected personal information.

International Users

The information that we collect through or in connection with the Services is transferred to and processed in the United States for the purposes described above. Skillprint may subcontract the processing of your data to, or otherwise share your data with, affiliates or third parties in the United States or countries other than your country of residence. The data protection laws in these countries may be different from, and less stringent than, those in your country of residence. By using the Site or by providing any personal or other information to us, you expressly consent to such transfer and processing.

Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not intended for nor directed to children under 13, and Skillprint will not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. We request that children under 13 do not provide information to us.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically in the future. If we make any material changes that affect data we have previously collected, we will post the revised Privacy Policy on our Site, with an effective date indicating when the revised Privacy Policy will take effect. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
